Our approach

At AEI, our in-depth knowledge of the latest construction materials, codes and regulations is merged with proven experience in historic and modern construction practices. The firm’s expertise has been acquired through extensive involvement in many overpass and building rehabilitation projects throughout Ontario and Alberta with both contractors and owners. AEI has extensive experience in and understanding of conventional bridge infrastructure projects and has provided engineering consulting services for numerous structures ranging from basic buried culverts to multi-span complex structures, with scopes of work involving initial and complex structure assessments, rehabilitation, complete design, peer design reviews and independent failure investigations in accordance with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and MTO structural and rehabilitation manual.

In addition, AEI has been able to introduce and develop industry standards in Canada with regards to accelerated bridge construction (ABC) projects resulting form firsthand comprehensive understanding and involvement. These projects often require multi-disciplinary input while balancing various stakeholder interests, and AEI has been able to prove its proficiency in doing so by being involved in nearly all ABC construction projects in Eastern Ontario since 2009.

Specializing in the design and engineering of bridges, buildings, and construction works, our aim is to ensure safety, timeliness, and cost effectiveness throughout all phases of a project.
